Marcia Torres Forno

For Marcia Torres Forno, winemaking is about forming a relationship with the land, to “preserve the essence of the individual vineyard site and bring its unique characteristics to the wine.” Her groundbreaking work in Sauvignon Blanc is a testament to this philosophy.

Originally from Chile, in 1995 Torres Forno started her first winemaking job at Viña Cousiño Macul in Santiago and worked at Viña Canepa soon after. In 1999, she started at Cardinale Winery in Napa Valley, and after stints at Kendall-Jackson and Pelton House was named Matanzas Creek Winemaker in 2010, where she makes a wide selection of Sauvignon Blanc and Bordeaux red varieties.
