Château Mouton-Rothschild Pauillac 1996

$188

Incredible nose of ultraripe fruit, it's yet subtle and complex. Full-bodied, with very ripe, almost sweet fruit and a long, long caressing finish. Superb. This is edging out the 1995.--'95/'96 Bordeaux retrospective. Best after 2010.

94 Gorgeous aromas of spices, berries, chocolate and raspberries introduce this pedigreed bottling. A glorious young wine that gets better and better as you taste it, it's full-bodied and incredibly silky, with super-integrated tannins and a long, long aftertaste. Best after 2004. —JS
