Nestled in the touristy hotspot of Austin’s historic Sixth Street district is a restaurant geared toward locals and destination diners alike. Lauded as one of the city's first gastropubs, Parkside is the flagship restaurant of chef-owner Shawn Cirkiel, who also owns Austin Award of Excellence winner Olive & June. Sommelier Krista Church oversees the Award of Excellence–winning wine program, which offers 100 selections with strengths in France and California. The list complements the farm-focused menu, which features locally sourced, classic American fare with a European twist; menu items include marrow bones served with herb salad and shallot jam, and a New York strip with foraged mushrooms and confit potato.
