In a buzzy Singapore neighborhood, Garibaldi Italian Restaurant & Bar offers refined Italian dining and a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence–winning program. Chef and owner Roberto Galetti spent years traveling the world before settling in Singapore and opening this restaurant. He brought a piece of his Italian homeland with him by serving traditional cuisine made with ingredients flown in from Italy. Galetti considers wine a crucial part of authentic Italian dining and works closely with wine director Antonio Valentini on the 1,440-label list. The program is strongest in Tuscany and Piedmont, where several verticals feature at least 10 selections from producers like Gaja, Marchesi di Gresy and Paolo Scavino. French picks also shine, particularly in Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne. For big-spending wine lovers, a section of more than 200 rare bottles includes Bordeaux first-growths, top Italian producers and selections going back to the 1930s.
