February 1, 2017: Do You Order Wine at Dinner if No One Else is Drinking?

Imagine you’re out to dinner with new friends or business acquaintances. As the server places the wine list on the table, no one reaches for it but you. You ask your party what they are thinking of drinking and, one by one, they say they’re not ordering drinks. Or worse, there’s an awkward silence. It happens. So what do you do? You were looking forward to a great Cabernet to go with your lamb chops. But if nobody else is drinking, do you indulge, or is it just plain uncouth?
