How Big Should a Restaurant Wine List Be?

July 6, 2016

This year, 3,595 restaurants around the world earned a Wine Spectator Restaurant Award for their wine lists. (You can find them all on our new Restaurants.WineSpectator.com site.) Typically, restaurants must offer at least 90 well-chosen wine selections to earn the Award of Excellence and 350 or more wines with breadth in regions or depth in top wines to earn the Best of Award of Excellence. The 88 Grand Award winners offer at least 1,000 wine selections, if not many, many more.
