About
Augustus Weed joined Wine Spectator’s Napa tasting department in 2006 and was promoted to tasting coordinator in 2013.
Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Weed spent many weekends at his family’s vineyard in the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma, exploring the local wine scene and helping his parents make homemade wine. He studied English and comparative literature at Occidental College in Los Angeles and, after graduating, helped manage a pair of wine shops in Berkeley, before joining Wine Spectator.
