Star Quality: This dog has a heart of gold. All love and affection, she has a very defined character. She traveled across Europe, from Portugal to Latvia, when I relocated and didn't even skip a beat. Betty greets each and every one of my wine shop clients, then brings her toys to show the clients. Like all Retrievers, her favorite hobby is eating, so I have to keep her on a diet to prevent her getting overweight. She follows me everywhere and neither of us can stand being apart.
Best Bud: Me, but she makes friends easily.
Favorite Reward: Any and all food. But due to her already having been overweight, her new favorite treats are carrots, cucumber and courgette. Love the sound of her chomping on a carrot.
Favorite Possession: A plush toy squirrel.
Favorite Activities: Being petted at all times by all living human beings. Taking walks in the snow.
Favorite Getaway: Under the work desk at the shop office, or the couch at home
Forgivable Flaw: None whatsoever. A true angel.
Background Story: Betty was the last dog of the litter and came into my life at a time of personal loss, shortly after the death of a relative. She has suffered some very common Golden Retriever ailments, such as cataracts and hip dysplasia, but through it all kept her loving, caring spirit. The best dog anyone can have, and I hope she will be a part of Da Gama wine shop for many more years.
