It's been a long and difficult road since the coronavirus pandemic closed U.S. businesses in March, but now the country is on a path toward reopening, and that includes welcoming guests back into restaurants. The progress is particularly exciting in regions defined by their wine-and-dining culture, including California wine country. Napa County got the go-ahead to reopen dining rooms on May 19, and as of Memorial Day Weekend, Sonoma County restaurants are permitted to resume dine-in service outdoors—with government-issued safety guidelines. While some restaurants are holding off for now, these 10 Restaurant Award winners are open and ready to serve up world-class experiences.
