Hello there! I'm Dr. Vinifera, but you can call me Vinny. Ask me your toughest wine questions, from the fine points of etiquette to the science of winemaking. It’s been fun playing doctor for yet another year. I love hearing from wine lovers all over the world and trying to shed some light on their questions, especially the offbeat ones—in fact, I often learn something new in the process!

These are some of the oddest (and most fun to answer) questions I’ve been asked this year. I went down a rabbit hole of videos on making boozy lollipops, talked to a copper scrub manufacturer, found a charming winemaker in Montana to tell me about dandelion wine and learned about how Alfred Heineken invented a square bottle that could also be used as a brick to build homes. It’s been a blast!
