2017 for France's Loire Valley will be remembered for its early-spring frost, when temperatures dropped as low as 23° F in late April. The resulting damage led to the smallest crop in the region since 1945. Yet the vines that managed to push out a crop later on were rewarded with a relatively solid growing season.
