The Prince of Walla Walla
Since taking the helm at his family's Leonetti Cellar in 2001, Chris Figgins has built his parents' winery—the first commercial producer in Walla Walla, founded in 1977—into much a larger venture, Figgins Family Wine Estates. He now produces roughly 12,000 cases of wine a year, encompassing three distinct brands. Today, his Leonetti vineyard portfolio represents a variety of microclimates and elevations throughout the Walla Walla Valley. Freelance writer Katherine Cole reports for Wine Spectator.
