German wine dealer Hardy Rodenstock rose to prominence in the wine world for hosting extraordinary dinners in the 1980s where guests, including celebrities and wine writers, were treated to dozens of rare bottles, including 19th century wines. They were Bacchanalian affairs-one featured 125 vintages of Château d'Yquem, the host's favorite. But now, as Rodenstock fights off lawsuits and accusations that he is "a master forger," his invitations are not so sought after.
