Ribera del Duero, in north-central Spain, is like Rioja’s younger brother, but one that grew up to be bigger and brawnier than its sibling. The eight wines in this week’s selection show this muscular character, especially from the ripe but balanced 2015 and 2016 vintages. Even better, all will drink well now through 2024 at least, and are priced at less than $30.

Tasting Highlights' wine reviews are fresh out of the tasting room, offering a sneak peek of our editors' most recent scores and notes to WineSpectator.com members.
