California's Rhône-style reds offer a lot to explore. They're made from a wide range of grapes, including Syrah, Grenache and less-known varieties like Counoise. And styles can vary significantly, from the bold and ripe to the restrained and appealingly earthy. There are several distinct versions and terrific values to discover in this week’s selection of newly released wines, which all earned 90 points or more on Wine Spectator's 100-point scale.

Tasting Highlights’ wine reviews are fresh out of the tasting room, offering a sneak peek of our editors’ most recent scores and notes to WineSpectator.com members.
