Many of southern Italy's distinctive grape varieties are owed to the seafaring ancient Greeks, who brought new grapes to the fertile soils of modern-day Sicily, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata and Molise. But after more than 2,000 years, southern Italian vintners have definitely made these grapes their own, as the impressive wines in this week's selection show.
