South African wines are booming in popularity, with worldwide exports up 26 percent in 2013. While the United States remains a developing market for Cape vintners, their exports to American shores grew by 37 percent in the past year, topping 1 million cases shipped. With a diverse range of red and white varietals, cool- and warm-climate viticultural areas and relatively modest pricing overall, South Africa has much to offer.
