California is gaining more white wines outside of the popular Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc bottlings. This movement is driven by an increasing number of vintners who are passionate about wines that are off the beaten path, expressing unique vineyard sites. From Italian, Rhône and Spanish varieties to Chenin Blanc and aromatic grapes like Riesling, these wines are expressive, distinctive and often moderately priced.
