Dine directly on the San Francisco Bay at the Spinnaker Restaurant. It was built in 1962 by the McDonnell family, who still own the restaurant. But the main draw is inside: a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence–winning wine list and chef Hiram Diaz’s American cuisine. Donna Naughton has been beverage manager since 2013, and she’s committed to a balanced wine list that champions the state’s renowned vineyards. California gems are plentiful among the 120 moderately priced selections, including verticals of Opus One Napa Valley and Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley. The program also offers picks from France, Italy, Germany, Argentina and more, complementing the eclectic menu. There are globally inspired starters like bruschetta and crab pot stickers, plus salads, pastas and an extensive seafood selection to enjoy as you gaze out at the bay.
