Senior editor Tim Fish says this is a rare Zin vintage that achieves harmony and balance—and it’s fun to drink to boot

In Praise of 2019 Zinfandel
Senior editor Tim Fish finds the 2019 Zinfandel vintage undeniably “yummy.” (Rick Wenner)
From the May 31, 2022, issue

“Yummy” is a great word, though you rarely read it in a wine tasting note. But when it comes to the 2019 California Zinfandels, yummy is the perfect description. Read on for senior editor Tim Fish’s look at the vintage from the May 31, 2022, issue of Wine Spectator.
