Gaylon Lawrence Jr. and Carlton McCoy Jr. are continuing their quest to preserve some of Napa’s most treasured wine estates with the purchase of Stony Hill Vineyard, one of the region’s first wineries built after Prohibition. With the help of up-and-coming winemaker Jaimee Motley, the new owners intend to continue the legacy of the McCrea family, who began planting the vineyard in the late 1940s with Chardonnay and Riesling, later adding Cabernet Sauvignon and other varieties.
