Dr. Vinny's 10 Wackiest Wine Questions of 2019
From explaining how to not remove a wine stain to figuring out what that indentation on the back of a wine bottle is for, our advice columnist never has a dull day

Hello there! I'm Dr. Vinifera, but you can call me Vinny. Ask me your toughest wine questions, from the fine points of etiquette to the science of winemaking. And don't worry, I'm no wine snob—you can also ask me those "dumb questions" you're too embarrased to ask your wine geek friends! I hope you find my answers educational, empowering and even amusing. And don't forget to check out my most asked questions and my full archives for all my Q&A classics.
I’m about to start my 15th year of being your favorite wine advice columnist, and it continues to be a joy. Each day, my inbox is full of questions from all around the world, and those questions keep me curious, too.
At the end of every year, I like to look back at the most unusual questions that I’ve had to answer. Some of these seem silly, some of them are actually more complex than they seem at first glance, but every single one of these made me think, “Huh.”
Have fun reliving my wackiest moments of 2019, from the day I went around measuring how tall the bottles in my cellar are, to my research on how to keep a wine stain, to having to consider what sound a cork makes. (Spoiler alert: It doesn't sound the same to everyone!)
