As president of the wine division of Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits, Mel Dick has played a leading role in building the nation's largest wholesaler and distributor. He has also been key in organizing the annual South Beach Wine & Food Festival in Miami, which has raised millions for Florida International University's Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. For his role in helping to bring wine to generations of Americans and his support of educational programs instrumental in professionalizing wine service and sales in the United States, Dick is the 2016 recipient of Wine Spectator's Distinguished Service Award.
