2017 Distinguished Service Award: Barbara Banke
Oct 8, 2017
Jackson Family Wines chairman Barbara Banke, who helped her late husband, Jess Jackson, build a wine empire on the success of Kendall-Jackson, is the recipient of Wine Spectator's Distinguished Service Award for 2017. Since Jackson's passing, Banke has led the company to new heights, and continues the shift toward premium wines, acquiring new brands, such as Siduri and Brewer-Clifton, and making a significant investment in Oregon, buying top vineyards and wineries like Penner-Ash. She is also active in supporting philanthropic efforts around the country.
