Jess Jackson, who brought you Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve, heads a premium vineyard empire
From the Jul 31, 1995, issue

Jess Jackson, who brought you Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve, heads a premium vineyard empire. According to Wine Spectator's Kim Marcus, since 1982, Kendall-Jackson has soared from an 18,000-case annual production to 1.7 million cases in 1994, according to the drinks industry newsletter Impact. Kendall-Jackson and its sister wineries comprise the 13th largest wine company in the nation. Jackson built it by buying prime vineyards at bargain prices, hiring some of the best winemakers around and disrupting the genteel facade of the California wine world with his bare-fisted competitiveness. More importantly, he's created a style of wines consumers love.
