The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will open the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures to the public on Sept. 30. To celebrate the achievement, longtime Champagne sponsor Piper-Heidsieck will be poured at the opening celebrations in Los Angeles—it will be the Academy's biggest event since the Oscars, when bottles of Piper literally lit up the night.
"Piper-Heidsieck has a long and rich history with cinema, which makes our partnership with the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures so special," said Piper-Heidsieck general manager Benoît Collard. "The museum will celebrate its long-awaited debut as the premier movie museum in the United States, and we are thrilled to be the exclusive Champagne partner to be poured in that celebration."
Attendees will get to taste Piper-Heidsieck’s classic-rated Brut Rosé Champagne Rare Millésime 2007 and Brut Rare Millésime 2006 during the Sept. 25 Opening Gala, where museum co-chairs and filmmakers Jason Blum, Ava DuVernay and Ryan Murphy will honor filmmaker Haile Gerima, actor Sophia Loren and Academy Museum campaign leaders Bob Iger, Annette Bening and Tom Hanks. Piper will also be served at the Opening Night event on Sept. 28 and the Premier Night event on Sept. 29.
The museum, which was designed by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Renzo Piano, contains 50,000 square feet of exhibition spaces, state-of-the-art theaters, an education studio, restaurant and more. It will be the largest institution in the U.S. devoted to the art of moviemaking and advancing the understanding and preservation of cinema through exhibitions, screenings, programs, initiatives and collections.

"We are thrilled to serve Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley Chardonnay and Cabernet to nominees in attendance at this year's ceremony and throughout the Emmys season." Winners, however, will receive a personalized bottle of Sterling Iridium Cabernet Sauvignon, as if the Emmy wasn’t enough …
Catch the live show on CBS or Paramount+ on Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET.
