While the image and quality of South Africa's wine has improved rapidly here in the United States, some of the best wines produced in the country rarely make it here. That's because a handful of the country's top vintners tend to keep small amounts of barrel selections out of their usual commercial releases, and instead send them to the annual Cape Winemakers Guild auction.
