The team behind legendary Burgundy producer Domaine de la Romanée-Conti traveled to New York in March to preview its 2019 vintage. Presenting the wines was Aubert de Villaine, DRC’s co-director since 1974, who announced he’s taken an advisory role and introduced two new co-directors. The quality and character of the vintage, which Aubert compares to 1865, manifested itself immediately, from the expressive Corton and aromatic Richebourg to the elegant La Tâche and glorious Romanée-Conti. Read on for senior editor Bruce Sanderson's non-blind scores and tasting notes on the wines from this stunning vintage, published in the June 15 & 30, 2022, issue of Wine Spectator.
