What am I tasting?

Every two weeks, we post a real Wine Spectator tasting note. Read the description carefully, noting the color, tastes, aromas and other important clues.

Then, figure out the correct answers in four multiple-choice categories: Variety, Country or Region of Origin, Approximate Age, and Appellation. Submit your guess and check the answer. Good luck!

Tasting note

Posted: May 19, 2016 A very enticing version, with energetic savory and bay leaf notes rippling through the core of dark plum and blackberry fruit. Lots of olive and iron accents line the finish, along with ample charcoal-edged grip. Still youthfully raw, but all the pieces are in place and the fine acidity should let the elements meld with time.
