MaryAnn Worobiec and Nathan Wesley, both experienced members of Wine Spectator's tasting department, have joined the ranks of the magazine's senior editors.
Worobiec, 42, has been with Wine Spectator since 1997. As senior tasting coordinator in Wine Spectator's Napa, Calif., office, Worobiec has been responsible for training new staff members, managing the cellars and coordinating blind tastings. She is the lead taster for New Zealand and also tastes Petite Sirah, as well as Sauvignon Blanc and other white wines from California.
A graduate of Ohio State University with a degree in political science and sociology, Worobiec worked for the Ohio House of Representatives before falling in love with wine.
Wesley, 38, joined Wine Spectator's New York tasting department in 2005. He is the lead taster of wines from Argentina, Chile and southern Italy. He also tastes wines from Hungary. Since 2007, he has managed the Restaurant Wine List Awards program, coordinating the annual review of more than 4,000 wine lists, including Grand Award winners.
A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and Case Western Reserve University, Wesley worked in restaurants for 10 years, including New York's Tribeca Grill, a Grand Award winner.
