Tasting Highlights: Torbreck

A mix of vintages and grape varieties results in some offbeat yet delicious wines

My recent tastings of mixed vintages from the stellar Torbreck winery offer some offbeat standouts. The flagship wine, RunRig, features a small amount of Viognier, similar to traditional Côte-Rôtie reds in France, and the hot 2003 vintage in Barossa must have resulted in ultrarich Viognier, because this version's component of the white grape makes a strong statement.
