Rich, deep-flavored reds are made by top producers scattered throughout the southern French wine region known as the Languedoc, and in the neighboring district of Roussillon. These wines, many of which are good values, are blends of various amounts of Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes, sometimes with Carignane and Cinsault.
