Here's one urban legend that's about to go up in smoke: Pinot Noir isn't the heartbreaking grape it's been made out to be. Heartwarming might be more like it. Of all the phenomena that have occurred in California wine of late, the sudden mastery of this temperamental grape by relative newcomers has to be among the more amazing.
