At 126 acres, Clos de Vougeot is the third largest grand cru in Burgundy's Côte d'Or. With its fragmented ownership, quality and styles can vary widely. However, in 2003, of the 15 different wines I tasted from this site, only one fell short of outstanding, and two achieved classic ratings (95-100 points on the Wine Spectator 100-point scale).
