This group of reds has something for everyone, from plush and elegant Merlot-based wines to intense, gripping Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. The top Merlots in this report, both at 93 points, are familiar names: The very ripe and dense Lewis and the elegant Paloma (the 2001 Paloma was 2003's Wine Spectator Wine of the Year).
