Eight outstanding wines in a diverse array of styles

The biggest surprise in this mix of Chardonnays is the first non-oak, stainless steel Chardonnay offering from Chuck Wagner and Mer Soleil. He's put a 2005 Monterey Chardonnay under a twist-off cap, and it's part of a trend in which winemakers are moving away from oak, barrel fermentation and malolactic.
