Abruzzi is a vast vineyard area in southeast Italy, about two hours by car from Rome. A gorgeous combination of mountains and sea, it's long been an important producer of grapes and wine used for "enriching" wines from regions farther north in the country, a practice perfectly legal but sometimes slightly exaggerated.
