Tasting Highlights: 2006 German Riesling, Part 2
A baker's dozen of charming wines that tame the excesses of the vintage
If you like lush, opulent Riesling, then 2006 is for you. It was an early harvest, beginning in late September and early October, thus the weather was warmer. The wines don't have the full range of flavors due to this early development, yet I have found charming kabinette and spätlesen from top producers.
