Tasting Highlights: 2005 German Riesling Kabinett

The 2005 vintage is by no means consistent across the board, but the stars shine brightly

German wines are categorized by the levels of ripeness—or the amount of sugar—in the grapes at picking. The term "kabinett" designates the first grapes to be picked, which are therefore of the lowest natural ripeness.
