In Wales’ capital city of Cardiff, a 19th-cenutry Gothic mansion is home to Best of Award of Excellence winner Park House. Wine director Adam Pledger oversees the 1,600-selection program with strengths in Australia, Champagne, New Zealand, Tuscany, Piedmont and Burgundy. The list features an impressive 13 pages of wines by the glass, including Burgundy grands crus like Bâtard-Montrachet, Charmes Chambertin and more. In the kitchen, chef Iain Inman showcases modern European cuisine with a focus on wild game and local ingredients. The winter menu features dishes like wild boar saucisson alongside Cornish scallops, French onion soup topped with 24-month Comté and duck baked into a pithivier pastry. Guests can also enjoy the extensive selections without committing to a full meal at the restaurant’s wine bar, Pinot.
