If it weren't for winemaker Michel Gassier's wanderlust, Château de Nages might never have become the star that now sheds a bright light on the obscure appellation of Côstières de Nîmes. When Gassier went to the United States in 1983, at the age of 23, he didn't think winemaking was a noble occupation.
