New Food and Wine Tours Offered in Napa Valley

Posted: October 9, 1999

A new Napa Valley tour operator is catering to small groups who want food and wine experiences tailored to their specific interests. L. Pierce Carson, the Napa Valley Register's food and wine editor, has formed Nonpareil Food & Wine Tours to showcase northern California's wine country.

Since the late 1960s, Carson has covered Napa Valley news, the wine country and the Bay Area entertainment scene, writing the Register's weekly food features and wine columns.

Carson will host groups of two to eight for one- or two-day weekend excursions. He will arrange visits to wineries not open to the general public, private tastings with respected winemakers, catered lunches in vineyard settings and dinners in some of the area's best restaurants. All transportation is included.

Reservations six weeks to two months in advance are suggested. For more information, call (707) 255-4260 or e-mail lpcarson@yahoo.com.
