
Temperatures soared to 90 degrees F during the festival, making it a perfect day for simple, refreshing white wines. At a re-creation of a "guingette," wandering tourists and nearby office workers could sample four different wines from the 1998 vintage: the acidic Chateau de la Chesnaie Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie, the softer Chateau de L'Hyveniere Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie, minerally and peppery Domaine de la Pepiere Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie and the clean and crisp Domaine Les Hautes Noelles Muscadet Cote de Grandlieu Sur Lie. |
