Although Riesling is planted in many regions, its home is in Germany, where for centuries winemakers have created some of this wine's greatest examples. Quality German Rieslings are often very reasonably priced, but unfortunately, small vineyard sites mean that they are rarely available in the large quantities of other, more popular grape varieties.
