Daughter of Napa Winemaker Dies Unexpectedly

Posted: February 5, 1999
Napa Valley winemaker Randy Dunn's daughter, Jennifer, died Monday, Feb. 1, of an undetermined illness that caused her to slip into a coma from which she never awoke. She was 20.

Jennifer grew up at Dunn Vineyards, helping her father prune vines, top off barrels of wine and assist with other farm tasks. The winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon from the Howell Mountain and Napa Valley appellations. Jennifer was studying business administration at Chico State College and hoped to use her training in the family business.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Feb. 7, at the Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena. The Dunn family has established the Jennifer Dunn Memorial Softball Scholarship, to which friends are invited to make a contribution in lieu of flowers. Contact Bruce Frank at (707) 967-2740.
