Tomme de Savoie is made in Savoie and Haute-Savoie near the Swiss border. Tomme means "piece" and can also be know as a generic term for semi-hard cheese made by specialty artisans.

The rind is supposed to be hard and powdery with a gray-brown hue. The paste is straw colored and slightly salty with a mild aroma.

Wine: Merlot, Nebbiolo
