Holloway is replacing Dave Guffy, who after nearly 10 years at Cambria left to join The Hess Collection in Napa Valley earlier this year. Holloway spent the first 14 years of his career working for Central Coast wineries, including a decade at Corbett Canyon Vineyards. He is now returning to the southern region after three years at La Crema, which makes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Zinfandel.
La Crema and Cambria are both part of Kendall-Jackson's Artisans & Estates group of relatively small wineries that focus on single vineyards and viticultural regions, unlike the large Kendall-Jackson Winery itself, which creates numerous interregional blends. Cambria, established by Jess Jackson in 1986, is best known for producing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah grown on its 1,200-acre Tepusquet Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley.
