
Fog starts to form in the early afternoon at the mouth of the Russian River by the Pacific Ocean north of Bodega Bay. As the inland vineyards continue to heat up during the afternoon, the hot air above them will start to rise and the cool fog will rush in behind it to blanket the vineyards during the night and stave off the sun's heat in the morning. |
