Bordeaux Basics: 2001 Harvest A late harvest under sunny and cool skies gave Bordeaux another outstanding vintage, according to some of the leading names in this top French wine region. Not only have the young reds been compared to those from such top years as 1986, but also the sweet whites in Sauternes and Barsac are said to resemble those from the legendary 1990 vintage.
