Bordeaux Basics: 1998 Vintage If Bordeaux were made up only of Pomerol and St.-Emilion, the 1998 vintage would be one of its greatest ever. The predominately Merlot-based wines from these two districts in 1998 are some of the most exciting ever made in Bordeaux.
